Born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Sunnyville, California, Sound Selection Founder and CEO Dj Idea embodies creativity, hustle, ambition, dedication and passion for his art in which results to premium quality beats. When asked what is the meaning of Sound Selection, Dj Idea responded:

 

“The meaning behind Sound Selection is that when you’re creating a dope beat it has everything to do with the sound selection used in that production. Understanding sound selection is the most important part of music production. This platform was born due to the lack of information that was out there for west coast producers. We stay true to the roots of west coast production. That is what we bring to the table. ” 

 

Inspired by the millennial era of California music, Dj Idea decided to create a music community called Sound Selection that is all about shaping the sounds of the west coast by bringing elements from the past which results to a musical hit with that newer west coast bounce.
